Established to provide scholarships for students who reside within the Town of Niskayuna or the Niskayuna Central School District. The student must have been accepted at or planning to attend an accredited college or university. Applicants must have a clearly demonstrated commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Niskayuna. Scholarly achievement will be considered. One common application qualifies you for the following two scholarships. Due date: April 1, 2020. Click here to begin application.



This need-based scholarship was established in 2007 through the Niskayuna Community Foundation to recognize a graduating high school senior, who is a resident of the Town of Niskayuna or of the Niskayuna School District. Mr. Huether established a scholarship in memory of his parents to help a community-minded student who needs assistance to further his/her education and who plans to continue to perform significant community service in the future.

There is no application for the following 3 scholarships.  The scholarship recipients are selected by the High School Awards Committee.

THE 60th ANNIVERSARY STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP (Two awarded – $500 each)

The 60th Anniversary Student Scholarship Award is awarded to two graduating seniors who embody the spirit of the Niskayuna Central School District:  “To empower each individual to make responsible choices, meet challenges, achieve personal success, and contribute to a global society.”  The recipients of this award have demonstrated significant development and growth in these areas by learning to achieve to the best of their ability and to become positive contributors to our school and community during their high school careers.  Recipients should be seniors who have demonstrated growth and development as citizens and working to the best of their abilities, regardless of GPA.


The Harriet Wall Memorial Scholarship is presented to a graduating Niskayuna High School senior who will be attending Boston University.  The recipient of this award shall be planning to pursue a career in physical education, physical therapy, sports medicine or a similarly related field.  If there is not a senior with these qualifications attending Boston University, the recipient can be planning to attend another New England college.


The College Promise Scholarship is for a student whose financial status would otherwise restrict their ability to attend college and who shall have graduated with a Regents diploma.  The student shall have achieved a minimum average of 80 for the full transcript. The school must be an accredited two or four year college or university.
